best line

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 3 January 2007 03:42 (A review of Young Guns)

Great movie, and the best line:
"Hey Chavez, how come they ain't killin' us?"
"'Cause we're in the spirit world, a**hole!"

It's one of those movies that I forget about for a while, then can't wait to see it... it's got a good story, good action, good acting.

listen, and listen good...

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 3 January 2007 03:22 (A review of Tenacious D)

This album is great stuff. It's great to listen to, and great to sing and quote. If you get a chance to, watch the videos that go along with the songs... They make it just that much better.

i got a girl

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 3 January 2007 03:09 (A review of I Am an Elastic Firecracker)

It started when I heard "I Got a Girl" over ten years ago and went on from there. Be sure to listen to the whole thing, including the "hidden" track at the end. It would be interesting to find out what these guys have going on in their heads...

snapped how many limbs?

Rasta gangsters + Steven Seagal = entertainment.

Wait for the fight in the jewelry store or the "military style" assault to really bring it home, voodoo optional.

flowery whats?

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 04:49 (A review of Fawlty Towers)

There's just something about anything that John Cleese was in that entertains me. Of course British TV isn't for everyone, but this was funny. How can you not like the embarrassment of a hotel owner...? This really *is* classic situational comedy.

frickin' sweet.

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 04:42 (A review of Family Guy)

This makes me happy. From the opening sequences to the local references to the Boston (MA) area, to the inside jokes that you get if you watch the show regularly... it's great stuff.

"It's ok, we can go to the Twinkie factory in Natick!"

why didn't i see it earlier?

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 04:29 (A review of Better Off Dead)

This is one of many movies that I didn't see until about 1995, and felt like I'd been missing a decade's worth of it entertaining me. This is one of the cheesy 80's movies that my friends and I like watching every once in a while and quoting it for a while after one of us catches it.

just something about it.

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 04:20 (A review of A Knight's Tale)

Not sure exactly why, but I really like this movie. It's not amazing, the acting isn't going to win Oscars, but I like it. The characters are funny and pretty well filled out, and the overall plot line is enough to keep you into it. It's worth seeing the awkward moments too.

don't underestimate it

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 04:08 (A review of Over the Hedge)

I thought this was going to be a cheesy kid movie. Don't get me wrong, I love Shrek, A Bug's Life, Toy Story, and the movies of Pixar and DreamWorks. It just seemed like this was an attempt to get a cutesy animal movie. This was pleasantly surprising (like PIxXeL said). It was more than entertaining, and I'm glad to have seen it...

twist, twist, then another...

Posted : 17 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2007 03:47 (A review of Heist)

I love the heist genre, and just received this on DVD. It was great to watch in the theater, and in the several times that I've seen it, there are new connections that I make to the pieces of the "job" that takes place... It's not a blockbuster, but it's more than worth watching.
