classic arnold flick

(A review of True Lies)Maybe not a classic Arnold, but close. There's bad guys, he's the good guy, he saves the day (in a lot of ways). Not much in the way of surprises, but there's some good action, good comedy, and the Arnold one-liners. (A review of Tremors)This is one of those movies that you almost don't want to admit to watching. It's entertaining, and it has Michael Gross (the dad from 'Family Ties') with a large gun collection. (A review of Road Trip)When this first came out on DVD, we watched it a few times and laughed... and quoted... and watched it again. Be sure to watch the extras too, they're entertaining. (A review of American History X)You will hate Edward Norton's character in the beginning of this movie. It's not just that you realize that he's a bad guy, or that he's a racist, or that you know he's doing something wrong. Norton does an amazing job of making you *hate* him. Luckily there's his redemption that happens, as well as an epiphany and a lot of education. That's about all I can say without giving away more of the movie. 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of Airborne)Why wouldn't you want to watch a movie where the race happens on the "Devil's Backbone" (ooh...)? Well it's not that great a movie, that's why. It's worth checking out to see Seth Green and Jack Black before they were stars. Decent underdog movie too, with the preppie kids trying to take on the other kids... 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of Mystery Men)How could you not like a movie with a character called 'The Spleen?' It's a pretty funny movie, and the "powers" they have are arguably the poorer options out there, even if they work out in the end. (A review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park)I read the book first, and got excited about the movie coming out. Like most other adaptations, they can't put every single detail into the movie, and the one thing that I really wanted to see was one of those things. There was a dino that had chameleon genes, so it was able to change color to match the environment (in case you weren't aware). How great would that've been on the big screen? Other than that, it was a pretty good movie with a lot of the same well-developed characters and action that you'd expect from a Crichton/Spielberg movie. 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of The Lost Boys)I really like this movie. It's a bit campy in parts, but it's easy to watch, it's quotable, and how can you beat the Corey squared combo? This is one of the movies that I get sucked into (no pun intended) when it's on TV.
